Vocal cord lesions, which can include nodules, polyps and cysts, are benign (noncancerous) growths that can cause hoarseness and loss of voice and are typically associated with vocal overuse or vocal cord trauma. Treatment options will vary depending on the patient's voice limitation and voice demands but can include voice rest, voice therapy and phonomicrosurgery to remove the lesions.
