How Our Audiology Assistants Can Help You

The Audiology Assistant's role at ENT of Georgia South is to support the audiologists and physicians by carrying out routine tasks so that the audiologists and physicians are available for assessing and treating ailments that require a higher level of skill, education, and experience.

An appointment with an Audiologist Assistant can be made for:

  • Deep cleaning of devices
  • Replacing of worn out or damaged hearing aid components
  • Discussing and practicing basic hearing aid care and use
  • Bluetooth troubleshooting of hearing aids or assistive devices

Meet Sara Cooper, C-AA

Licensed Audiology Assistant

Sara has been with ENT of Georgia South since January 2015 when she moved here from Pennsylvania. She joined the practice running the front desk in the Buckhead/West Paces Ferry office. She often assisted the audiology department behind the scenes in addition to her other duties and in 2017 she took the opportunity to progress her career by officially joining our Audiology Department as an assistant. She completed her Audiologist Assistant diploma through Nova Southeastern University and was licensed as an Audiologist Assistant in the state of Georgia in 2018. She received additional certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2022. She sees patients for hearing aid repairs and troubleshooting in our Fayetteville location while assisting Dr. Lindsay Lanson and Dr. Michele Wattman in day-to-day operations.

Outside of the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband, stepson, daughter, and their dogs.

Meet Kacey Akin

Licensed Audiology Assistant

Kacey has been with ENT of Georgia South since March 2020. She joined the practice helping to efficiently run the front desk in our Stockbridge office. The opportunity arose for her to advance her career by joining the audiology department in the summer of 2021. Kacey completed her Audiology Assistant diploma with Nova Southeastern University and received her licensure with the state of Georgia in 2022. She assists Dr. Carrie Dunn and Ms. Janeann Lee in their day-to-day operations in our Stockbridge location and is available on-site for hearing aid repairs and troubleshooting.

When not in the clinic, she loves spending time with her family, animals, and friends. She enjoys being outdoors, staying active, and LOVES Atlanta sports!
